Staff members at Temple Sinai’s ECEC provide a healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate program and environment where children have the opportunity to develop social-emotional, language, intellectual and physical skills. Respect and support the family unit in their efforts to raise their children to become well-rounded individuals.

We are currently screening applicants for the 2020-2021 school year.

Lead Teachers

All teachers must obtain the required 45 childcare hours and maintain the 12 childcare hours required annually by DCF. It may be necessary for ECEC faculty to obtain a Child Developmental Associate (CDA) or Florida Staff Credential in accordance with state requirements. Additionally, as per DCF requirements, all faculty members must comply with the most recent, updated and changing standards designated by AISF, Association of Independent Schools of Florida.

Assistant Teachers 

Assistant Teachers will function to assist the Lead Teachers in the classrooms and/or to have responsibility for certain specialty areas according to the needs of the school, at the discretion of the Director. 

Assistant Teachers shall be employed on a full-time or part-time basis with a maximum of 30 hours per week. The hours of employment may be adjusted up or down based on enrollment and needs, with the salary being adjusted proportionately. An assistant teacher must have a minimum of 45 hours in childcare training as required by DCF as well as 12 hours of in-service training.

Specialty Teachers

Specialists are employed on either a full time or a part-time basis and must be qualified in their field. Terms for such employment will be determined on an individual basis. 

All ECEC Specialists are responsible for maintaining their 45 hours of childcare training with additional annual coursework as required by AISF, and DCF, as well as meeting appropriate qualifications in their specified areas.

Seasonal

Throughout the year we have opportunities for staff to work at our winter, spring and summer camp programs. For information on working at these seasonal camps please speak with the Director.

Substitute Teacher

Temple Sinai's Early Childhood Education Center is always on the look-out for substitute teachers to support and supplement our outstanding teaching staff. 

Minimum education and experience
At least 18 years of age; a high school diploma or GED and the 40-hour DCF training. All childcare personnel are required to complete 40 hours of mandated training and must meet the early literacy, First Aid and Pediatric CPR, Safe Sleep/Shaken Baby Syndrome and Fire Extinguisher training requirements.

Preferred qualification: A CDA or equivalency credential with one year of experience.
